PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.
The usual monthly meeting of the ahove body was held at 'their office, Cambridge, yesterday. Present: Crs. R. H. D. Fergusson (chairman);' Williams, iChepmell, W. T. Firth, and H. E. Whitaker. The usual prelimiuary business was disposed of. Road at Shavti^buby.—On., the motion of Cr. Whitalter, it was' agreed to pay Mr Cox £20, the balance of grant on account of a road on the Grant and Foster block. Cr. Macle\x. —Leave (of absence* was granted Cr. Maclean, who was unavoidably prevented from attending the meetings, of | the pouncil. (, ; , ti( , R.OAIJS AXD BRIDGES CONSTRUCTION Act. —The clerk was instructed to take the necessary steps to strike the rates required for repayment of Government grants under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act.
