SOLDIERS' GRAVES.
TO THE EDITOR. , Sir, — It was understood when '■the re« mains of soldiers who fell in the Waikato War were removed to the permanent cemeteries that some distinguishing monument or headstone would be erected to thejr memory, but up to this no steps have been taken, so far as I can learn, to carry out this laudable object. The lion, the Defence Miuister may require a reminder again. lam aware that you did some time since draw attention to this matter. I consider it the duty of all who now enjoy the fruits- of what these poor fellows fought and died for should see that their old mates are remembered and cared for. — 1 am, &o. Ou> SoLDigs.
