Last of the Ngatikawhata Ejectment .Cases. ,. The last of the series of cases preferred by a number of Ngatikawhata natives came on for hearing on Tuesday morning ' at 10 o'clock. CjiviiUKOj? Assault. — The first infprmation'i cad "was .'preferred 'by Ani Whatft 'against Charles 1 Walker, charging nim t ' with that he did 1 'on.th6 'l7th November, 1882, at Mangapiko, unlawfully assault, ' beat, and ill-treat the said Ani Whata by striking her ou the 'head with' a spade, and dragging her out of a whare, doing her bodily harm.— Mr Hay, counsel for the informants, said he had no evidence to ofFer. — His Worship then formally discharged the accused." v , Charge qi? K'iot. — The next information 'read i contained; {a! blia'r&e ,of i'iot agaiVst' E! ? B. Walter] b! 'WUlfcler, 1 T. Walker, John; ,Gi ice, j\Y| 'H. )Grace, and A. B. Stubbing, alleged to have taken place at Mangapiko on ,17t|i^oveinber, ( ISB2, in which they were assisted by about twejity r ,qther, oyil-dispo,sed-persous. The charge was 'preferred by "one Mere Whakati^u.-^Mi^ Hay, said he had, no evidence to offer. — His Worship then formally discharged the accused. This terminated the series of charges upon only one of .whichj that of forcible entry, a committal, was secured.
