ALEXANDRA.
The Native Crops. Up country natives arc already disposing of their crops, and by so doing have caused business of all kinds a bit of a stir that was very much required, there having been Aery little doing of late. The rain on Saturday last was also very welcome to the loot crops, the great bulk of the natives' potatoes having been put in very late in the season.
The feeling re Te Kooti. Whatever the Southern people may think of the Native Minister's action in meeting and pardoning Te Kooti, there is no doubt whatever it has made a good impression on the minds of the kir.g native;?. Perhaps it may be considered by some that it was something infra dig for a Minister to go so f«tr out of his way to condone the crimes of so notorious a rebel as Te Kooti, but the good done to the colony at large in securing the confidence of the natives and the peace of the colony is incalculable.
