WELLINGTON, Night. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited); report under date, London, ] 6th :—The wool sales commence on the 20th inst. The mill include 280,000 bales fresh arrivals, and 1 0,000 bales old stock. On Saturday night Ca[>t. Eto and the officers of the Eingo were entertained at a dinner at the ,Club Hotel. To-day they gave an afternoon dance on boaict to a large number of people, followed by an !, excellent display of fireworks. Another exhibition of fireworks takes place tonight. The Governor, accompanied only by his Private Secretary, left for the South in the Ringarooma to-day. Mr Walter Bishop, District President of the Druids, lias left for Melbourne on business in connection with the opening of lodges throughout the colony.
