CAMBRIDGE WATER SUPPLY.
Ix reference to the above matter the following agreement has been extensively signed :— "The undersigned ratepayeis ol Cambridge, being desirous that no stone should be left unturned to secure a water supply, and believing that the opinion and report of a first-class consulting engineer on the vaiious schemes proposed would materially strengthen the hands of the board, hereby agree in the event of the loan not being raised to pay the sums oppo&ite our names towards the expense of obtaining the said opinion." This document, -which has been got up by ratepayers - outside the board, has been signed by 4S of the ' principal people in the town interested in a , water supply. < The Chairman, in consequpnee of the above encouraging document, put himself in communication with Mr Errington, C.E., who has agreed to come up today, and examine the various schemes which have propounded, and report thereon. We further . understand i>t, is proposed to hold a, public ( meeting pn Wednesday evening next, at which Mr Errington's report will be submitted to the ratepayers.
