Yksterday.— (Before Tlieir Honours Judge OBrien, and Judge WilH ams, Te Whetu No. 3. Kahaxama , tk, a resident on I'atetere, , and an i independent f witness, was called on Tuesday by the claimant Ngattmaihi, aucl gave important evipence as to tribal occupation. Jiis. examination by Maugakahia, on. behalf of* Mr Sheeban, who was absent owing to ill-health, lasted to the midday adjournment on Tuesday, when his cross-exami-nation by Arakatera te Wero commenced. The cross-examination was continued by Dr. Builer, wh,o represents Ngatiwau'wpu counter-claimants, and finished shortly after the mi,dday adjournment yesterday.
