RUAPUKE PUBLIC LIBRARY.

Tiik yearly mooting of the subscribers to the above institution was held immediately on the conclusion of the meeting oi householders on the 22nd ult. From the report submitted by the librarian, Mr W. Johnstone, it was shown that the affairs, of the library were in a healthy condition. The number of volumes now amounts to '200, and it is probable that many more will be added to the collection before long. Application had been made in due iorm for a share of the £6000 Public Libraries Grant, and the money that would be thus secured would materially help this object. It was resolved that the district school committee should be requested to act as a library committee for the ensuing year. The appointment of a librarian was left to the new committee. — (Own Corresponden.)
