The annual meeting of householders' for the purpose 6f electing persons' to serve «is a district school committee for the ensuing year was held in the schoolroom on the 22nd ult. Mr W. Liddell wasvbted to the chair. The balancesheet for the past year having been read, was' adopted. The election oi» a new committee then took place, witlj> the following result : — William Liddell, 15 votes : W. Duncan, 14 ; W. Thompson/ 12 ; T. Kendall, 7 ; A. Hpsking, 6> ;, D. Burns, 6 ; \V. ' John'stqne, '4 ; T. Ward, 3 ; D.' Bums jun., 2 • 3. Swan, 1. The chairman declared the first , seven duly , elected. , A vote of thanks to the chair closed the proceedings. At a meeting of the new committee held immediately afterwards, Mr W. Johns^one.was elected chairman, Mr W. . .Thompson, treasurer, and Mr VV. Diincaiij cleric.
