S. PETER'S CHURCH, HAMILTON. Sunday-school Picnic.

The .annual picnic of the children attending S. Peter's Sunday-school took place yesterday in Mr Jolly'a paddocks, kindly lent for the pin-pose. The children, to the number of 132, accompanied by the superintendent, Mr Logic, and the teachers of the school, left the Public Hall shortly after 11,, Mr C. R., Johnson kindly driving the infant class in one of his 'busses. " On reaching the ground overlooking the Lake, a photograph was taken of the whole party, and the young people then proceeded to amuse themselves with the numerous swings and other means of enjoyment provided. Unfortunately, a light rain fell during the greater pait of tlie day, coming down rather unpleasantly after dinner, and somewhat spoiling the sports, running and jumping, etc., organised. These, however, came off, prizes on a liberal scale being provided. Other games, such as "French tig " and kiss-in-the-ring (minus the kissing) were indulged in, and tea having been served out, the children were inarched to the Parsonage and dismissed, after giving cheers for Mr and Mrs Bigga and the teachers. Notwithstanding the weather, the arrangements were well carried out, and the teachers desire to acknowledge the kind help of Mr and Mis. Tolly, Mrs Lyon, Mrs Gwynwe, "and His Worship the Mayor, who generously contributed a huge tin of lollies. The edibles were provided by Mr Trewheellar, an 1 gave universal satisfaction. Altogether the children fully enjoyed the treat provided for them by their teacheib and friends.
