[Received January 18. 12,40 a.m.] London, January 17. The other prisoners convicted for the Lough Mask murders were executed to-day at Gal way. Paris, January 17. It has transpired that Prince Jerome will be prosecuted in the ordinary manner for his seditious proclamation. It is not probable that the resolution of the Chamber of Deputies for the expulsion of all the members of the Bonaparte families * from Franco will be carried but.

The Victorian Loan a Failure. Loxdox,' January 17. The total amount subscribed for the Victorian loan was £600,000. The list was closed to-day. >

The Health of Mr Gladstone. Intelligence has been received that the liight Hon. W. E. Gladstone has reached Cannes. He has accomplished the journey^vithout undue fatigue, and his health is iii a more satisfactory state.

Alexandria, Jan. 17Intelligence is to hand from the Soudan that au engagement has been fought be- , tween a battalion of Egyptian troops and the rebels under El Mahdi, the false prophet. The latter were victorious, and inflicted a severe defeat on the troops, the whole battalion being virtually destroyed ; fully one-half were killed, and the rest were placed lion do combat.

Commercial. London, January 17. Consols have advanced to 100^. New Zealand securities are without quotable change. Colonial breadstuff's and tallow are steady at last quotations.

Union Bank of Australia. London, January 17. The Union Bank of Australia has declared a dividend of 8 per cent for the past half year, and can icd £50,000 to the reserve fund.

The, English Mail. London', January 17. The homeward mail, via Naples, pur Orient steamship Garonne from Melbourne (Nov. 30) was delivered here today.
