■ Dru>;kenness<7-A man named Thomas Ran kin was placed in the dock, charged with having been drunk in Cambridge on, | Saturday evening last. ' Accused pleaded guilty to the charge.' Constable Brennan said it was the second' offence. The prisoner was found lying in Victoriastreet on Saturday 'night' with his head badly cut. He was- conveyed' to the lock-up, whore* i owing to the serious nature of the wound on his head, it was found necessary to call in the services of a 1 med'ieiil mail. Fined 103, with 1 4s costs, or, in default, 48 hours' imprisonment. ' ' A Tailor i\ t Trouble.— William Kinnerney was brought before the Court on a charge/perferred by one John Mullins, farm labourer, for that on or about the 3rd January last he did unlawfully, by certain false pretences, obtain of the Siiid John Mulling one/ pair of brown drilled trousers, tlie value~of 20s sterling, with the intent to cheat, and defraud the said John Mvillms.— .Constable Bmiuau stated that under the nejv* Justice, of the Peace Act, if the prisoner so requested, the, case could be 1 ' dealt' with summarily. The ' prisoner pleaded guilty, and the charge was accordingly dealt with summarily.— John was called to state the circumstances of the case. ' ' The prisoner had asked him on New Year's Day for some work, and in response he'gave him a pair of twilled trousers to mend. He was/ to do the job for 4s, and to have it finished on the following Saturday.
