At the sale of wool, hides, skinr and tallow, there »vas larger than average supply, and a full attendance of the trade. There was no alteration in value from l.ite quotations. At Remuera on Thursday, dairy cattle were numerous, but in better demand, and advanced in price. Store rattle at late values, with st fair demand for well bred steers. Kit cattle, y.irded in moderate number*. A few of choice quality reached 255, but the ruling price for good steer* was 22s the 1001b*. Sbcep were in full number, and late value ; about 2idfur medium fatted wethers ; owes, 2d the lb. Fat lambs numerous, goni'ially ol good quality, and sold from 0s to 13s each. Fat calves in less than usual number and rallied in price. Store pigs of good quality, numerous, and at lower prices than for many woeks, but well fatted porkers maintained their late values. Hu.vruit a.vi) Noiav's Rtii'Oßi.— Horses: A tolerable amount of activity has characterised the market, and a good many have chanced hands, particularly of blood stock and hacks, and although in many instances tho figures obtained were barely up to expectations of vendors, prices were relatively higher th in has been the case for some little time. There was a large number submitted by auction on Friday, at the Durham Yards, and there was a fair competition throughout the laic. We quote— Hacks, L 7 to Ll6 : medium draughts, from Ll9 to L2O 10s : active trap or express horses, LlB 18s to L 27 10s. At the sale of bUod stock, held at the Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Ground, there was a large attendance, and steady competition throughout, and although in some instances the expectations of vendors could not bo reached, the prices muit on the whole be considered satisfactory, and sold as follows :—Threc-ycir-oltl filly by Hippocampus— Venu* Transit, 33 guineas ; bay yearling filly, by HippocampusVenus Transit 20 guineas ; brown yearling colt, by Musket— Yattcrina, 185 guineas ; black yearling filly, by Hippocampus— Slander, 140 guineas ; brown yearling fllly, by Mart byrnong— Peeress. 180 guineas ; two-year-old colt, by YaUendon— Peeress, 12,'> guineas ; Maid of Honor, 295 guineas ; Tun Wifflcr, 300 guines ; chestnut gelding Prinrc Charlie, by Papapa, 30 guineas. Piscatorious was passed at 300 guineas. A yearling colt, by Musket out of Fanny Fisher was passed at 120 guineas. Cattle : The holiday produced the usual interruption in the market, and lessened the number submitted for sale, but prices had an upward tendency, particularly for dairy and fat stock. There was a good muster of fat beasts at Newmarket on Wednesday, and a few dairy cows. The prices for both showed an advance of fully LI per head. On the same d.iy the monthly sale was held at Papakura. 'Ihere was a full muster ol stock, a good attendance ol buyers, and prices ruled in favour of the vendors fully 5s per head on late quotations. Sheep were in short supply at Newmarket on Wednesday, and prices had an upward tendency. Wethers sold at from 14s to 17s. Lambs were tolerably plentiful, and sold at 0s Od to 17s. Pigs : Very iew were yarded, and there was no alteration in value.
