At few dairy cows of inferior qualitj were sold at low values. Fat cattle were in ;ivcrdjje supply, but dull of sale, and last week's values barely sustained. Is id to lb 3d each Cattle: 'ihe supply has been a moderate one, and the demand steady, ihere lias been a slight vpward tendency in beef, but other descriptions were unaltered in value. 'Ihe .supply, both at Newmarket on Tuesday and Pukekohe on Wednesday, was a moderate one Dairy cows were ratherscarcc at Newmarket, but plentiful at Pukckoho, and prices ruled m favour of the purchaser, btorcs were in excess of requirement, owing to the continued diy weather, and several pens were held for higher rates. Fat beasts were yarded in less than usual number, and there was an upward tendency in prices, "25s per lOOlbs being given for a lew prime animals, bheep were penned in moderate numbers at New - market on Tuesday. Ihe competition was steady. Owing to the hot weather, the best sheep did not sell relatively so high as inferior ones Lambs weie in fair supply, and sold at from 5s (Jd to 13a Od , wethers from 14s to los 6d ; ewes from 9a to 11s Gd. Pigs were tolerably plentiful, and good porkers were id lower than last week.
