Messrs Goldsbrouoh &Co. report under date, Melbourne, November 22 :•— Wool.— The auction sales have been actively maintained since the date of our last summary, and the season is now in full operation, the quantity catalogued during the month being 59,022 bales, pt which -4(1,974 b-iles have bepn sold, t tlfu*J thawing a trjtal of (JVil) bales catalogued* md 50027 bales sold sim c the commencement of the season on 18th ultimo. The wools that have come forward up to th" present bate principally consisted of Rood useful Merino dtps \n the greise, the production of central, southern, and west Riverin.i, prices, for which have ruled from lOd to 12d per lb., according to condition. Other lots -from the iout)i-c intern portion of th.it territory, being on the whole stronger in staple and more showy in appearance, having realised liijjhcrjfigurcs, and h.ive ranged fiom J2jd to 14d, several important clips of good character having been placed at that range of prices, borne choice western clips of superior quality and exceptional lightness have sold well, as high as l.'ijd having been realised .it our warehouse within the past week. Supcuor greasy Tasm.inian wool* have also icalised extreme rates, .is high as lOd having been reached for .j clip of 111, bales. Fine half-bred and greasY lambs of good style are in request.Jand ;sell at very full prices. Washed fleocwwools'arengainin short supply, the quantity forward up to the present being e\cn less than last year, The few lots, however, that have come to hand have been well competed for, and some exceptionally bigh prices have been" paid for specially choice clips; a. parcel of 103 bales from the westward Jiavinfc realised 2% 7d per Id. Current quotations are 10d to 20d for ordinary to good and 22d to 26d per lb for superior, according to quality and " get up." Good shafty scoured fleece has ruled from 20d to 24£ d with inferior a,nd pieces in proportion. The market for heavy-conditioned merinos, in the grease, faulty scoureds, Lincoln and kindred classes ot crossbreds is hot so buoyant, and prices during the past fortnight have ruled slightly in favour of buyers. From the above rates it will be seen that all light-condi-tioned, high-graded combing wools, combining quality with strength and style, attract considerable attention, and as it is generally supposed that this class of wool will this season be restricted to the yield of a comparatively small area, it naturally commands rates somewhat out of proportion with those ruling for wools that are deficient in these essentials. Sheepskins. — Current quotations arc :—: — Butchers' green pelts from Is to Is 9d each : do. do. skins, 3s to 5s Cd each ; dry skins in bales, &c, 2d to Id per lb. Hidls.— New Zealand heavy weights, nominally 3^d to 4^d per lb. Monthly GrA7N Ri'i'om .— Wheat,— Business has been entirely confined to supplying our local millers, who, however, buy very sparingly, and for immediate requirements only ; in consequence of which prices have lallcn about Is per bushel during the month, and now close with buyets at 5s 4d., sellers f»s Cd. Flour continues dull of sale at from £11 to £11 10s per ton, being a fall ot £1 per ton during the month. — Oats are in little inquiry, and prices are maintained at from 4s to 4s 4d., according to quality. — Isarlcy, maize, and peas are in little demand, at from 4s Od to fis (id respectively.
