_— — m • The first atmiversary ot Cambridge West Anglican Sunday-school > >yi\a celebrated by a children's service, conducted by the Right Rev. the, Bishop in the schoolroom on Sunday, the 10th inst. There were aboitt»> sixty present, 1 including children. A handsome American organ has been 'prdcurfcd for the school, and was used for the first time, Mrs T. W. Hicks being organist. The service was commenced by the children singing the following hymn, written specially for the occasion : — ' Hark, the organ loudly pealing', Bids us sinpr Jehovah s praise; Now in accents glad andjoyiul, High our hearts, and vo.ces 1 aisc ' Prajso Him for our lirst creation, "Praise Mini for his boundless Love, Praise Him for our full salvation, ' Praise Him with the saints above. JLay the music of our worship Lift our hearts from earth to ]ic<i\cn, Help to quench their every p.isiion 1 Th.it to Gpd they may be (ji\en : That we may approach Him nearer, Day by day, ando'car by vc.ir \ — Light of Truth still shining clearer,— v Perfect Love shall cast out fear. Praise His Holy Name for ever With the saints tlut dwell m Light ' lather, Son, and Holy Spirit, God of mercy, Loid ol might ! —Amen. This was followed by the opening sen- | tenee, "I Mill Arise," also sung by the | children, and the whole sets ice wao inus,icatyy rendered., ; The Jiishop addressed the children in simple woi'ds on the " Joy and peace in believing," caiefully pointing out that true faith is shown by a spirit of love and obedience to Him in whom we boliove. After the service the new instrument was veiy much admired. It is a small American pai'or on,un by Wood, of Boston, U.S.A., and was selected in Auckland by Mr Rice, organist of St. SSepnlchre's, to whom the Sunday-school is deeply indebted. It contains live octaves, six htops, and a Knee-swell. It ha* also a very handsome case. The Cambridge West people arc to be congratulated on the success which lias crowned their efforts to provide a musical instrument for their school. — (A Corres pondeut.)
