THE COUNTY COUNCIL'S ANSWER TO THE CAMBRIDGE CO UNTRY BOARD.
Sir,— O'djum is a gbod'.'todrtf. t6"apj?ly' to. the " Waikato County Cbu'ucil. ' The' grievance 'of' the ' Cambridge couiitry board against the, town board ; has' been duly considered by the \\[aikato Comity Council, aud their decision is 1 this I ':— £l79 to the. credit of the country board, and .-ei'79 debit td the town' board, just exactly snows that there is nothing to' the credit of the riding. The 1 town asWd 'for £150, but the county went' the whole hog,' and gave up ' the full ' timdunt, /£tf9'. , to the town. For this state of affairs look to, and remember councillors of Cambridge ' ' riding, especially' Councillor Graham, for not objecting to the town taking all our funds. Councillor Wells promised to be in his place at tile last county meeting to twist those accounts; I therefore supplied Councillor 1 ' Wells' with a certified copy of riding accounts to study aud challenge. The result went evidently to satisfy even Councillors Wells and Hewitt that the country board had suffered at their bands— for neither Councillor Wells nor HewitWas present. In the fulnie the council is willing to give us a little more consideration by granting the country district two members in the couueilt We shall watch auviously the earryiug out of this pro misc. — I am , &0. , J. Forrest. HdUtapu, Nov. 27th.
