Youxo Lord Djsrijy took First I'ri/e as a yearling at the Auckland Show, 1878, and First Prize as a two-year old in 1870. He was bred by A. and J. Anderson, of Kaniwhaniwha ; got by Lord Derby i who, when a colt before leaving Victoria, took a number of First Prizes. Ho was bred by Mr A. Wat&ou, High Bank Hill, Kyneton ; got by Champion of Scotland, the winner of First Prizes at the Highland Society's Shows, held at Edinburgh in 1869. He was al*»o the winner several times of the Champion Gold Medal at the principal Annual Shows in Victoria. Young Lord Derby's dam, Fanny, got by Northern Hero, out of Queen, an imported mare from Sydney. Young Loi d Derby is a rich datk bay, stands 17-1 hands, and has prov ed a sure foa 1 getter, and a grand temper.
