Night. Am; the horses engaged at the approaching meeting had training gallops, • except Betrayer, who is reported to be queer, he having 'been absent from exercise'on the last two mornings. Cheviot easily disposed of Vanguard. Of the other Derby horses, Nonsense moved the best, and looked very well. Salvage did not please the touts so much as on previous mornings. Neither did Welcome Jack, who had all his work to do to beat Whitebait over a mile. Torquoisedid capital work, and Ouida showed splendid fovih in a half-mile gallop.
