Youxg Loud DtRBY took First Prize as a yearling at the Auckland Show, 1878, and Fiist Prize as a two-year old in 1879. He was bred by A. and J. Anderson, of Kaniwlianiwha ; got by Lord Derby, who, when a colt before leaving Victoria, took a number o* First Prizes. He was bred by Mr A. Watson, High Bank Hill, Kyneton ; got by Champion of Scotland, the winner of First Prizes at the Highland Society's Shows, held at Edinburgh in 1869. He was also the winner several times of the Champion Gold Medal at the principal Annual Shows in Victoria. Young Lord Derby's dam, Fanny, got by Northern Hero, out of Queen, an imported mare from Sydney. Young Lord Derby is a rich dark bay, stands 17-1 hands, and has proved a sure foa 1 getter, and a grand temper. TERMS Single Mare £2 10s j two or more, as per agi cement. Grazing, 2s per week. His dam, 351ossom, winner of two prizes in Canterbury. Blossom's sire, Napoleon, whose stock has ne\er sufleied defeat by the progeny of any other she in New Zealand or Scotland. His sire, the imported horse Prince Charlie, bred by James Nicol Fleming, Esq., whose stock is not equalled by auy other breeder in Great Britain, lie is also brother to the champion horse of Scotland, the Prince of Wales, v\ ho has lately been sold foi £]-100 to Mi L. Diew, of Merry ton Piince Chai lie took fiist prize in Christchurch in 1572, beating a ticld of eight competitors, six of them imported and all aged horses but one, lie himself being only three yeais old ; and the same day a special pi ize for the best animal on the ground. He also gained the special piize of £o os, given by Mr Bishop, Mayor of Chvistchurch. Lowden Tarn has proved himself a sure foal-getter, and his stock is second to none in the Colony, W. B. IMPORTED PURE-BRED CLYDESDALE ENTIRE, SIR COLIN. Sir Colin, dark chestnut, pure-bred Clydesdale horse, rising four years ; has immense bone, combined with splendid action. The following pedigree will show that he is bred iiom the best of stock : — He is out of Kate 111., by Sir Colin Campbell ; Kate, by Campsie 111. (imported) ; Kate, by Napoleon (imported), was the champion mare of New Zealand. For further pedigree see Canterbury Stud Book. Sir Colin was bred by Mr Holley, Canterbury, and is a sure foal getter. Mares can be arranged to be guaranteed. He -will also only cover a limited number of mares. Sir Colin was shown against all coiners at the Auckland Show, as a two and three-year-old, taking both first-class prizes, beating high-priced imported stock belonging to • ' Messrs Maclean. This proves Sir Colin to be one of the best that can be bred. He will travel the Waikato district.
