Mr (Jladstone, the Duke Cambridge, Earl Granville, and a distinguished company met him as lie alighted from the train, and as ho drove away trom the station he received a great ovation from the large crowd which had assembled. Farther heavy rain has fallen over England, and fresh floods have been caused. The Thames Valley is now inundated, and serious destruction of property has resulted. An amendment to the clotnre proposals has been moved by Mr Gibson in the House of Commons, demanding that twothirds majority should be required to adopt the cloture. The amendment will test the feeling of the House on the whole question, and the division on Mr Gibsons motion was fixed for Thursday next. Vienna, October 28. Very heavy storms of rain have been experienced in southern Austria, and alarming floods have resulted in the Tyrol and the province of K.vrinthia.
