The objects of the Auckland Ficezing Company (Limited) are the preservation (by freezing or otherwise) of Beef, Mutton, Pork/ Fresh Butter, &c, in l.irge quantities, and in such a manner as to benefit the public generally as consumers, and by securing remunerative prices to assure mutual advantages both to the j''aimers and to the Shareholders of the Company. In order to carry out these objects it is proposed :— Ist.— To acquire (by lease with a piucha&ing clause) a site on the line of railway in the Waikato, suitable for the following purposes — (".) The Slaughtering of Livestock, {h.) The utilisation of the oftiil in the most lcnninerati\e manner, by manufacturing artificial manures, boiling down tallow, and producing neats' foot oil, &c. 2nd. — In like manner to acquire in the City of Auckland, a site, whereon to elect a freezing chamber, and requisite freezing apparatus, capable of holding fiom 1 000 to 2000 bullocks. 3rd, — To construct cooling trucks for the tiansmission of meat from the Waikato to Auckland. 4th.— To export meat and dairy produce in vessels specially adapted for the safe carnage thereof. 5th ■ — To store in such freezing chamber, daiiy pioducc, and like perishable commodities. It is well-known that during the past twelvemonths the avci age price of beef in the Auckland Province has not exceeded eighteen shillings per bundled pounds weight. The promoters of the company desire to assure to the shareholdets twenty-five shillings per hundied pounds all the yeariound. This can be effected by freezing the meat and by disposing of it wholesale from the freezing chamber or from the railway truck* (when the markets would allow, i piofit) or by exporting to other markets. Mutton and poik could be dealt with in a bimiliir manner. It is considered within the mark to quote the number oi cittle required for the Auckland maiket at '2")0 per week. The average w eight is TOOlbs. Thus it will be re.idily seen that the increased piicepei bullock assured to the farmers will be about £2 10s. This would bean ad\ance of C 2.."500 per month upon the cattle sold in Auckland alone. It is estimated that the present cost ot sending cattle to the Auckland market, of yard fees and of commission for selling, exceeds 10s per head. The &a\ ing of this latter sum, added to the increased price guaranteed by the company as above stated, will raise the price of all f.it stock to about £'3 sterling per head above the aveiage prices ruling during the past year, and must consequently affect the pi ices of all horned stock. The expense of killing, freight and freezing l cady for export is estimated to be less than L'l per beast, and the profit dei ivable fiom the hide and ofi'al would yield about i' 2 sterling pei head. The promoters of the company piopose to become" pin chaseis, fiom Miardiolders only, of good fresh butter at Is per pound and upwards, with a \iew to e.xport the bamc to the KnglUh or other matkets. Thiity shaies to be the minimum number to qualify shareholders to sell beef to the company at 2")s per lOOlbs, and 100 shares to qualify a dnector. The e\poiting of meat will cause an increased pi oduction, will stimulate fanning operations, and will place an augmented and unfluctuating value on all land within the Auckland Pro\ince. Having in view the fact that the proper carrying out of the objects of the company will result in a vastly increased and geueial prosperity, the promoters confidently submit to the gcneial public the safe and certain gain to be derived ftoin this investment of capital. The shaielist will be open to the 24th of October. Applications for shares to be made to the secretary, fpro IvmJ j ITi ederk'k Charles (iermann, Paterangi, Waikato, or to any of the Provisional Directois.
