The objects of the Auckland Fiee//ing Company (Limited) are the pi esei ration (by freezing or otherwise) of Beef, Mutton, Pork, Fiesh Butter, &c., in Lugo ! ivuantitics, and in such a manner a& to , benefit the public generally as consumers, ! an T l by seeming remunerative piicos to assuic mntiul advantages l)otb to the Farmers and to the Shareholders of the Company. In order to carry out these objects it is proposed :~ Ist. — To acquire (by lease with a purchasing clause) a site on the line of lailway in the Waikato, suitable for the following purposes— (".) The Slaughtering of Livestock. (/>.) The utilisation of the oflal in the most lemuneiativc manner, by manufacturing artificial manures, boiling dou 11 tallow, and producing ncats' foot oil, fee. 2nd. — In like manner to acquire in the City of Auckland, a site, whereon to eicct a freezing chamber, and requisite freezing I apparatus, capable of holding fiom 1000 to 2000 bullocks. 3rd. — To construct cooling trucks for the transmission of meat from the Waikato to Auckland. 4th. — To export meat and dairy produce in vessels specially adapted for the safe carriage thereof. i)th. — To store in such freezing chamber, dany produce, and like perishable commodities. It is well-known that dm ing the past twelve months the a vei age price of beef in the Auckland Province has not exceeded eighteen shillings per hundred pounds weight. The promoters of the company desire to assuie to the shaieholdors twenty-five shillings per bundled pounds all the year 1 ound. Thib can be effected by freezing the meat and by disposing of it wholesale from the freezing chnmbcr or from the railway trucks (when the markets would allow a piolit) or by exporting to other markets. Mutton and pork could be dealt with in a similar manner. It is considered within the maik to quote the number ot cattle required for the Auckland market at 250 per week. The average weight is TOOlbs. Thus it will be readily seen that the increased price per bullock assuicd to the faimcis will be about £2 10s. This would be an advance of -C2,,")00 per month upon the cattle sold in Auckland alone. It is estimated that the present cost of sending cattle to the Auckland mai ket, of yard fees and of commission for selling, exceeds 10s per bead. The saving of tins latter sum, added to the increased pi ice guaranteed by the company as above stated, Mill lai&e the price ot all fat stock to about £8 stciling pur head above the average pi ices ruling during the past year, and must consequently aiFcct the pi ices of all homed stock. The expeufec of killing, fi eight and ficc/ing lc.uly for export is estimated to be less than -C I per beast, and the prolit denvable ironi the ludc aud oflal would yield about C 2 stciling per head. The promotei s of the company pi opose to become pin chasers, fiom shareholders only, of good fresh butter at 1& per pound and upuaids, with a view to expoit the same to the English or other maikets. Thirty shares to be the minimum number to qualify shareholders to sell beef to the company at 2.">s per lOOlbs, and 100 shares to qualify a diiector. The exporting ot meat will cause an increased production, will stimulate farming operations, and m ill place an augmented and unfluctuating value on all land witliin the Auckland Pro\ inco. Having in view the fact that t'ue proper carrying out of the objects of the company Mill le&ult in a vastly increased and geneial prospciity, tho promoters confidently submit to .the general public the safe and certain gain to be derived from this investment of cajiital. Tho sbarolist will be open to the 24th of October. Applications for shares to be made to the secretary, Ci»o temj Frederick Charles Germann, Pateraugi, Waikato, or to any of tWe l Provisional Directors.
