Young Lord Derby took First Prize as a yearling at the Auckland Show, 1878, and Fiist Prize as a two-year old in 1879. He was bred by A. and J. Anderson, of Kaniwhauiwha ; got by Lord Dei'by, who, when a colt before leaving Victoria, took a number o f First Prizes. He was bred by Mr A. Watson, High Bank Hill, Kyueton ; got by Champion of Scotland, the winner of First Prizes at the Highland Society's Shows, held at Edinbuigh in 1869. He was al»o the winner s-eveial times of the Champion Gold Medal at the piincipal Annual Shows in Vietoi ia. Young Lord Derby's dam, Fanny, got by Northern Hero, out of Queen, an imported mare from Sydney. Young Loid Derby is a rich dark bay, stands 17-1 hands, and has proved a sure foal getter, and a grand temper. TERMS— Single Mare £2 10s ; two or more, as per agieement. Grazing, 2s per week. Wednesday — Whatawhata, and Hamilton same afternoon, stopping at Mr Johnson's stables for the night. Thursday— Hokoinu and Taupiri for the night. Friday — Huntly and Ohinewai for the night. Saturday -Rangiriri. Terms —Single Maies, £2 10s ; two or more, £2 each. LOWDEN TAM— A rich brown colour, I(s^ hands high, bred by W. Boag, Esq., Fciulaltown, Canteibury. His dam, Blossom, winner of two prizes in Canterbury. Blossom's sire, Napoleon, whose stock has never suffered defeat by the piogcny of any other she in New Zealand or Scotland. His sire, the imported horse Prince Charlie, bred by James Nicol Fleming, Esq., whose stock is not equalled by any other breeder in Great Britain. He is also brother to the champion horse of Scotland, the Piince of Wales, who has lately been sold for £1500 to Mr L. Drew, of Merry ton Piince Charlie took first prize in Christchurch in 1572, beating a field of eight competitors, six of them imported and all aged horses but one, he himself being only three years old ; and the same day a special prize for the best animal on the giound. He also gained the special prize of -Co os, given by Mr Bishop, Mayor of Chris tchiuch. Lowden Tarn has proved himself a sure foal-getter, and his stock is second to none in the Colony, W. B. Thursday—To Cambridge. Friday — At home. Saturday — At Cambridge. Terms : Single mare, £4 4s ; two or more as per agreement. Pedigree in future issue. All mares left with the proprietor will be grazed one month free ; afterwards Is 6d per week will be charged. Every care taken, but no responsibility. Being a stranger in Waikato, and consequently not knowing the settlers, I will be willing to call upon anyone wishing to use either of my horses, if they will leave address at any of my stopping places.
