Secretary i>ro tern Frederick Charles (Hermann. < The objects of the Auckland Freezing Company (Limited) arc the preservation (by freezing or otherwise) of Beef, Mutton, Pork, Fresh Butter, &c, in large quantities, and in such a manner as to benefit the public geneially as consumers, and by securing remunerative prices to nssuie mutual advantages both to the Farmers and to the Shareholders of the Company. In order to carry out these objects it is proposed :— i Ist.— To acquire (by lease with a purchasing clause) a site on the line of railway in the Waikato, suitable for the following purposes— ('/.) The Slaughtering of Livestock. (/>.) The utilisation of the offal in the most remunerative manner, by manufaotuiing aitificial manures., boiling down tallow, , and pioducmg ncats' foot oil, &ci 2nd.— ln like manner to acquire in the City of Auckland, a site, whereon to erect a freezing chamber, and requisite freezing apparatus, capable of holding fiom 1 000 to 2000 bullocks. 3ul. — To construct cooling trucks for the transmission of meat from tho Waikato to Auckland. 4th. — To expoit ment and dairy piodncc in \essels specially adapted for the s.ife eaniage thereof. sth. — To stoiein such fiee/my chamber, daily produce, and like ! perishable commodities. It is well-known that during the past twelve months the a vei age pi ice of beef in the Auckland Province has not exceeded eighteen shillings per bundled poundb weight. Tho pioiroters of the company desire to assure to tho shaieholdeis tw enty-five shillings per bundled pounds all the year round. This can be effected by fiee/.ing the meat and by disposing ot it wholesale fiom the freezing chamber or from tho railway trucks (when the markets would allow a pioh't) or by exporting to other maikets. Mutton and pork could be dealt with in a similar manner. It is consideied within the maik to quote the number ol cattle requiied for the Auckland market at 250 per week. The average weight is TOOlbs. Thus it will be readily seen that the increased price per bullock assured to the farmers will be about £2 10s. This would be an advance of £2.500 per month upon the cattle' sold in Auckland alone. It is estimated that the present cost of sending cattle to the Auckland market, of yard fees and of commission for selling,. exceeds 10s per head. The sax ing of this latter sum, added to the increased price guaranteed by the company as above stated, will raise the puce of all fat stock to about £3 sterling per head aboxo the aveiage pi ices l tiling (hiring the past year, and must consequently affect the pi ices of all horned stock. The expense of killing, freight and freezing icady foi cxpoit is estimated to be less than £1 per beast, and the profit derivable tiom the hide and offal would yield about L' 2 sterling, per head. The piomoters of the company propose to become purchasers, from shareholder only, of good fre&h butter at Is per pound and upwaids, with a \iew to export the same to the English or other markets. Thirty shares to be the minimum number to qualify shareholders to sell beef to tlie company at 25s per lOOlbs, and 100 shares to qualify a director. The exporting of meat will cause an increased production, will stimulate farming operations, and will place an augmented and unfluctuating' value on all land within the Auckland Piovince. Having in view the fact that the proper carrying out of the objects of the company will result in a vastly increased and geneial prosperity, the promoters confidently submit to the general public the safe and certain gaiu to be derived from this investment of capital. The sharelist will be open to the 24th of October. Applications for shares to be made to the secretary, (pro t'em) Frederick Charles Geimann, Paterangi, Waikato, or <to any of the < Provisional Directors.
