TVTEWCASTLE HIGHWAY DISiM TRIOT. MR. E. C. vSHEPHERD has been appointed RANGER for the above Highway District for the current year, and will attend at the Delta Hotel, Ngaruawahia, on Thursday, 26th inst., from 10 till 2, to register cattle and receive fees, and at the Post-office, Whatawhata, on Friday, 27th. NEWCASTLE HIGHWAY DISTRICT. Notice To the ratepayers in the above district who have not paid last years rates :— Proceedings will be instituted forthwith for the arrears together with rate for curreut year unless paid by 31st October. CAVALRY DANCE, IN honor of the visit of the Waiuku Cavalry, to be held in the VOLUNTEER HALL on THURSDAY, October 12. Double Tickets, to admit Gentleman and two Ladies, 7s 6d each. N.B. — No admittance except by ticket.
pAMBRIDGE, OR "B" TROOP. Waikato Cavalry Volunteers. The above Troop will PARADE on SATURDAY, October 14th, at 10 a.m. sharp, at the Public and Volunteer Hall, Cambridge, for inspection. Every member must appear fully equipped. The Fen Court Belt will be competed for after parade. A Troop Meeting will be held in the evening ; the time to be decided on parade. "PUBLIC NOTIFICATION. A MEETING of the Waikato County Council will be held on Wednesday, the 25th inst., to consider and decide upon a resolution passed at a meeting of Ratepayers of the Rangiriri Outlying District, held at Huntly on the 23rd ultimo., whereby it was decided to acceede to a proposal made by Mr Wm. HAMILTON HIGHWAY DISTRICT BOARD. Notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the abov« board to meet at the office of Mr J. Edgecumbe on Saturday, October 28th, at 1 p.m., for the purpose of striking a rate of 9d in the £ on all rateable land in the district for the year ending 31st of March, 1883, the rate to be made payable in one instalment on and after Ist of November, 1882, to Mr W. NOTICE is hereby given that the Pirongia District Board intend, on the 21st October, to LEVY A RATE of ONE SHILLING IN THE POUND on the rateable value of Property in the above Highway District for the year ending 31st March, 1883, and that the said Rate will be payable in one sum on the 4th November, 1882. TTJTAITOA DRAINAGE WORKS. Contracts Nos. 11 and 12. TENDERS will be received at or before noon of THURSDAY, the 26th instant, for the above Contracts. Plans, specifications, and conditions of contract may be seen, and further information obtained at the office of Mr W. C. Breakell, C.E., Hamilton, from the llth to the 18th instant, and from the 19th to the 23rd instant at the Company's Station at Waitoa. On Saturday, the 21st instant, at 9 a.m., Mr Breakell will meet intending contractors at Waitoa, and point out the site of works.
