THE LATE FIND OF GOLD AT TE AROHA.
A correspondent writes nndcr date Friday last :— As I have seen nothing in any of the papers giving a correct account of the gold discovery here last week, I ventured to write find let you know the particulars, which are as follows :— A party of prospectors (nmongst whom was John Purvis, well-known in Hamilton), dropped across a leader in the Old Prospectors ground, just below where the gold was discovered at the first rush. They obtained about lOlbs. of magnificent specimens far richer than anything hitherto found at Te Aroha. I might as well mention that about 18 months ago John Purvis took some good stone to Hamilton, which he gofc onfc of fclie same place, but he could do nothing then as the ground was in the possession of a company-
