Consols have advanced Jd and are again at par. New Zealand securities are unchanged at last quotations, viz, 5 per cent. 10-40 loan, 105^, ex div; 5 per cent. 1889 loan, 106$ ; 4* per cent, 18791904 loan, 101 h. Colonial breadstuff's have suffered a decline of one shilling per quarter. To-day's quotations are Adelaide wheat; ex warehouse, 475, New Zealand, 45s to 47s ; Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 345. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,130,000 quarters or 40,000 more than at this time last week. Australian tallow continues firm at 45s 6d for best beef, and 46s 6d for best mutton. At to.day's wool auction, 11,000 bales were catalogued. The market was steady, but the demand was not active. Scoured wools ax*e dull.

At the wool sales 223,000 bales were catalogued. Good combing was firmer, but short, faulty wool was a penny lower. Clean crossbred a halfpenny higher. Clothing is easier. The sales close on the 3rd October.

The Austral cargo of frozen meat was cleared at an average of 6{d per lb. Some of it was sold to-day for 7^d.
