Melbourne, Yesterday. The accessary repairs to the steamship Te Auau having been completed, she will leave Melbourne to-morrow for the Bluff. Information is to hand that a robbery has been committed at the Branch of Colonial Bank of Australia at Ready Creek, but no particulars are yet known. Arrived, last evening, the Orient steamship John Elder, from Plymouth, July 1. Sydney, Yesterday. Arrived, last evening, the Union Company's steamship Ringarooma from AuckI land. News has reached here that the labour sohooner Ire (ik) has become a total wreck on Maiion Reefs, Queensland. All on board were saved. A destructive fire occurred this morning at Borthwick's oil shop, 281 Ceorgei street. The place was completely gutted, but the fire was prevented from spreading to the adjoining premises. The insurances amount to £3,600. Arrived : H.M.S. Nelson. A Sydney "Lloyd's" (Underwriter's Association) has been formed here. The local business of Goldsbrough and Co., Hoffnungand Co , and Rowan and Co., are being formed into a company. The banquet which has been organised to welcome Sir Henry Parkes, who arrived here from Europe by steamship John Elder, last evening, will take place to-morrow (Tuesday).
