The Late Attempted Snicide.

Auckland, Last Night. Mr IJJfooRE, who attempted suicide at Devonport, still is in a very precarious state.

Letter of Winiata. On the night before his execution, Winiata wrote the following letter to the Bishop of Auckland : — Mount Eden, August 3, 1882.— T0 the bishop; to the chiefs of Auckland. There you are under the shelter of the Queen; there you are under the care of Jehovah, of Chiist, of God. May you live for ever. All that I have now is the name of Jehovah, of Christ, of God. The salutation to you is finished. To the ministers, to the bishop, that is, to all the ministers under the care of Jehovah, of Christ, of God, That is all from Winiata.
