THE OHINEMURI SHOOTING CASES.

At the Supreme Court, Auckland, on Thursday, Pakara te Paora and Epiha Taha were placed on their trial charged with wounding, with intent to murder, one William Francis McWilliams, at Rotokohu, Ohinemuri, on the 29th August, 1879. The evidence in this case has already been fully published in these columns, and need not be recapitulated. Mr Brassey defended the prisoners. The jury, after deliberating for 20 minutes, returned a verdict of not guilty in the case of Pakava, and guilty as against Epiha. The former was discharged and Epiha was sentenced to three years penal servitude.
