At first, fast week's values were fully sustained, but towards the end ot the sale prices fell slightly. The sheep market was wi?H supplied, and an improved demand for store sheep manifested. Fat sheep were at last week's values. Pigs were yarded in larger than average number ; they were mostly medium weights, and were in brisk enquiry. Messrs' Huntbr Sc'Nolan's Wkbklv Rkpor i .— Horses : There has been no noteworthy alteration in the market, and very few strange horses have been brought forward. At tho Durham Yards, on Friday, an average number were entered and disposed of, but bidding was slow, consequently, the sale was prolongcdlonger than usual, but nearly all lots were cleared. We quote— Cattle: Tho market was fairly supplied, and.the demand was steady at both Newmarket and Fukekoho. The muster was under the average, tho weather being very severe. Dairy stock wore fairly represented, but stores were in very i' short supply. Fat stock were in adequate number. Prices for dairy and fat stock were fully maintained, and, indeed for well-fatted animals, an advance to 2(5s per lOOOlbs. was given. Sheep : There was more than the usual number of sheep yarded last Tuesday, principally shipborne, and late prices were fully sustained. Pigs : Short supply, and corresponding demand.

NEW ZEALAND MEAT IN THE ENGLISH MABKET. Messieurs Murray, Roberts and Co., in a letter which appeared in the Outgo Daily Times, makes the following statement :— We have received a cablegram from London informing us that 349 carcases of mutton which wo shipped by the Dunedin have realised in London, alter paying freight at 2|d per lb and all expenses (including' insurance at 84s per cent), the sum of £360. This gives a net return of almost 21s per carcase at Port Chalmers, and as the sheep averaged i7lb, is equal to 2d 4-oth per lb. These sheep were shipped in February, when skins were worth little (Is !)d each), and taking the offal into account, and after paying all expenses, we receive a net of 22s 2d per head Similar sheep were selling in the yards hero in February at 13s.
