Mr Rolleston said the Government had not any time to consider the bill. Sir JMLtti. moved the adjournment ofthe debate to enable Ministers to consult the law officers. Mr SiißEifi&S.^id'the bill in its present shape would be good for the lawyers, and would not effect its object. Mr Diok objected to the bill, and said that the law officers had put it into shape, but had warned Mr Feldwick that the Government was not to be supposed to approve, and that it would not effect its object. " After discussion the debate was adjourned to. the 3rd August. I Mr Seddojkt moved the second reading of the Gold Duties Act Amendment Bill. The bill was read a second time.
