WAIKATO PLOUGHING ASSOCIATION. The Initiatory PLOUGHING MATCH of the above Association will take place on FRIDAY, the 21st July, 1882, at Broad Meadows, near Cambridge (the farm of John Runciman, Esq., when the following Prizes will be open for competition :—: — CLASS I.— For Double-furrow Ploughs. First Prize ... ... £5 Second Prize ... ... £3 Third Prize ... ... £1 CLASS lI.— FOK SINGLE-FCBBOW Ploughs. First Prize ... ... £5 Second Prize ... ... £3 Third Prize ... ... £1 CLASS lll.— For Single-furrow Ploughs. For Boys 16 years of age and under. First Prize £3 Second Prize ... ... £2 Third Prize ... ... £1 Competitors in Class 111. may also bo competitors in Class 11. CLASS IV.— For One-way Ploughing, either for Double or Single- furrow Ploughs. Double-furrow Ploughs to plough one acre ; Single-furrow Ploughs to plough half-an-acre. A Prize will be given for the Best Team of Two Horses on the Ground. A Prize will be given for the Best Team of Three Horses on the Ground. A Prize will be given for the Best Kept Harness on the Ground. A Prize will be given for the Best Sack of Potatoes. A Prize will be given for the Best Sack of Mangolds. A Prize will be given for the Best Sack of Turnips. A Prize will be given for the Best Sack of Carrots, A Prize will be given for the Best Bushel White Oats. A Prize will be given for the Best Bushel Black Oats. A Prize will be given for the Best Bushel Wheat. All to have been grown in the Waikato District.

Entries for all ploughing competitions will close with the Secretary at 8 p.m. on the 19th July, or with R. Kirkwood, Esq. All entrances for ploughing competitions, ss, except Class 111., 2s 6d ; late entrances to pay double fee. The depth of all ploughing to be five inches. Tickets will be drawn at 9.30 a.m., and matches start at 10 a.m. and close at 3 p.m. Subscriptions in aid of the Association in money, or articles for Extra or Special Prizes, will be received by the Treasurer, R. Kirkwood, Esq., Cambridge. A MEETING of the Committee will take place on WEDNESDAY, the 19th, at 8 p.m., at the Duke of Cambridge Hotel. CHARLES CHITTY, Secretary.
