Major Atkixsox gave notice of the following motion for Monday: —That provision be made against sic'uiess and pauperism by a compulsory national institution to secure the following benefits :—(I). Sick pay , for ' every single person, male or fenyile, .between the ages of 18 and' 65,' of not less than 15s per week during sickness ; (2). Sick pay for every married man of not less than 20s, and for married women 7s 6d during sickness ; (3). Superaiiuation allowance of lOs-fov every male or^fenjiale^from 60 years of age; (4)." Au alfowaiice of'los for every widow with ;one child, increasing according, to scale with the r size of the family until the children are '15? years of age.,, • , _ r, Replying to questions' it was stated :—: — " That the Government did not intend to bring in a bill to make the, Upper ( House elective as promised by the late premier j the rule providing the transfer of railway tickets to persons otherthanpurchasers, was absolutely necessary to prevent the abuse of the return ticket system.
