The sphooner Torea, which went.ashore yesterday, was successfully floated off the rocks at' Kaipara to-day; j iShfc" sustained very little damage. I At the sale iof Rosebank, Mr Cliisholm's estate, to-day, high prices ruled. Soul** lots fetched fi-om £30 to £40 per acre, and ranged from / that down to £15 for the most distant Whan sections. The whole estate' realised £90001 ir ' v At the Presbytery to-day, Dr. McLeods credentials- ~weie submitted and read. Mr Robert Kay, representative of Waikato > West,, appeared in, support of a calto Dr. McLeod, signed by 94 members and adherents} that' charge he addressed to thef Presbytery on behalf, of the congregation of Waik'atb' West. The Rev. Mr J Runciman, mbdei'ator- of the North Shore session, laid on the table a call signed by 32 members and .adherents of that church. Messrs Sibbin and Miirchie appeared as supporters to the call. Both palls were placed iii Dr. McLepd's Hands. Dr McLeod then addressee] the Presbytery I and said it was owing to a vacancy at the North Shore that he had remained, and he therefore thought, they , should have the prior claim to li is services; he would accept, the call to the North Shore Me&srs Fraser, John Macky, and Norrie, expressed disapproval of the d^disicfa, but the Presbytery acquiesced in thede'eision, and it was agreed that the 'induction take place on Thursday, ' the 20th, inst. It was stated that an ordained minister at JEawke's Bay was inclined to come up and pi each at Waikato West as a' candidate. Mr Kay said there would be ample provision for the' support of a minister in his district, and that the interests of the church would suffer unless a good ministor was sent'up to Waikato West. The Rev. James Bruce suggested that the Rev. Mr Neville be sent up to commence services at oiice ? and tjiat application be marie to 'Mr Patersoii," for permission to that gentleman to continue his services for the present. The queatiou of the supply to Waikato West ' was then referred' to the church extension Committee. At the Supreme Court, in Chambers, today a settlement of the issues in the case S ( loane v. Johns ( Was deferred ; so Was Mr Jfesketh's application foi* fixing time and' place for heaiiug the compensation claims against the Cambridge North Township District Boai-d by Messrs Rose and Clements, respectively. The motion to vest the estate of John Gorrie deceased, in the Public Trustee, was also defei red, pending the filing of an affidavit showing it would be advantageous to so vest'tlie property.
