CORRESPONDENCE.
THE ARMED CONSTABULARY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sik, —Seeing that the Government intend calling in the Armed Constabulary from Rotorua for the purpose of placing them into winter quarters, and putting some here and some there, I think the least they can do is to send a few to Te Aroha to form the roads. Being a young diggings and requiring help, who so fit to give a helping hand as that Government which receives a large proportion of the money fiom the licenses, &c. The roads here (if you can call them &uch) are in a disgraceful state, in fact, nothing but mud, and to see poor unfortunate women and children floundering through them would touch the heart of any right thinking man man. If the Government will only place a few men here for the purpose of forming the road from the old landing to the township they will be conferring a boon on all residents in thi& township, (Always help a lame dog over the stile). —l am, &c., OIibhRVEE. Te Aroha, June 22nd, 1882.
