Waikato Times Office, Friday. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS. Mr Almusd Buckland's Wkkkly Report.— At tho Haymarket, on Friday, 16th June, fodder was abundant, and brought from 2s to 5s per c\\ r, straw, 23s to 37s 6d per load. At the Haymarket, on Tuesday last, there was a larger supply of hides tnan usual, with a full attendance of the trade. Prices ranged from 3Jd to 4Jd the lb. Prices obtained were satisfactory to the sellers. The sale at Drury, consequent on the wet weather, was less than usual. Prices without alteration. >At R'emuera/on Thursday, dairy cattlowerc numerous, but not of choice quality.. Good cows were required, but, second class animals dull of sale. Store cattle 1 were scarcely saleable, the wet weather preventing purchases. Fat cattle in less than average "number, but without improvement in value. Prices ranged from, 18s to 23sbut the average of any draft of cattle was not over 20s the 1001b.' 'Fat sheep abundant, and without alteration in value ; 3d the lb was the ruling 'price for fairly fatted wethers. A few well-bred pigs sold at satisfactory prices, but a large number of coarse animals, both fat and store, were quitted with difficulty at very low values, and breeding pigs of good quality were exceptionally low in price. Messrs Hunter and Nolans Wi- ekly ReM)RT. — Horses : A large' number have been brought forward, and young broken horses ot a good stamp found purchasers, but colts were nut sought after, and weeds were neglected. At the Durham Yards, on Friday, there were a good many entries, but, except for riding horses, bidding lacked spirit. Two good cross country sold, respectively, at £24 and £35 each : backs, from £8 to £17 10s ; spring cart horses, from £13 to £25 10s. Cattle : There has been a plentiful supply of dairy and fat stock, but a short one of stores. At tho Newmarket Yards, on Tuesday, the dairy and butcher's pens were well filled, and for dairy cows, at their profit, there was a brisk demand. Very few stores offered. Fat beasts were steadily competed, but there was no upward tendency in the market. Veal cahes were scarce, and there remains an unsatisfied demand. Sheep : There was about the usual number penned at Newmarket on Tuesday. There was an improved demand, and prices advanced considerably. Wethers sold at from 17s to 25s each ; mixed sexes, insufficiently fattened, from 14s 6d to 16s 9d j Stores, 0s to 12ss. Pigs : A good number were disposed of. Prices ruled in favor of purchaser.

NEW ZEALAND GRAIN MAKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company report under date Christchurch, 15th inst. : — Christchurch.— Wheat.— Shipping lines of good ordinary milling command 4s lid to 5s f.0.b., whilst for long-berried Tuscan, 5s 2d hns beeri paid. Seed parcels of this description are changing hands for coastwise shipment at 5s 3d to 5s 3d f.o.b. Oats. — For coastwise orders 3s 4d to Zi 6d f.o.b. are current quotations. Dunudin. — Wheat — During the month the market has continued to advance, and we now quote 5s for prime milling wheat, the qu.intity of which however, is very limited. Qafi —For this cereal we report a fairly active demand, at enhanced values, both for feed and milling. We sold lately by auction feed oats at up to 3s Ud, and an extra lot of bright mtllin,' at 3s 3d. InvercArgill. — Wheat. — During the past month there has been a steady demand for milling samples for export. We quote — best qualities, 4s 9d f.0.b.: inferior to medium, 4s to 4s 6d ; fowls' feed, 3s to 3s 6d. Auckland.— Wheat.— Very little is now left in farmers' hands. Good samples art- worth 5s 3d per bushel. Fowls' wheat scarce .it 3s Od to 3slod. Nklsox. — Bat/ejt — For best malting samples the price remains as quoted last mouth ; fair to good have, however somewhat receded, and current rates may now be quoted at 4s Od to f>s. Malt. — 'lhe maltsters having secured all the best samples of barley, will have prime qualities of malt for shipment, and last month's quotations arc fully maintained, viz.. 6s to 6s (id. Hop!,. — l'bo growers arc now well cleared, and another month will probably see all stocks low. Sales have been made within the past few days at from Is Od to Is Bd, according to quality, but higher prices arc looked for.
