WELLINGTON, Last Night.
Night. Capt. Williams has received the following telegram from Capt. Gibbs, Rekerangu : —" The Westport sank off Plaxbourne. The crew have landed in boats, and are uowproceedingto Blenheim." It is understood that the Westport was insured for £8,000. She was bound for Wellington, and foundered off Kaikoura. The insurances are :—Colonial, £3,000, of which £2,400 is re-insured in an Australian office ; South British, £2,500, of which £2,000 is reinsured in an Australian officr ; Victoria, £2500, reinsured as follows : Batavia, £750 ; Union, £500 ; United, £500.
