LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS. [BY TELEGBAPH. — OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Auckland, Last Night.

The late Accident to Mr Wallnutt. The young man Thomas Wallnutt whose foot was so seriously injured a few weeks since at Hamilton is now doing remark, ably well in the hospital. An idea prevails amongst some of his friends that the foot will have to come off, but there is not the slightest possibility of such a contingency.

The Cutter Deveron. Amicable arrangements have been arrived at between the crew and owners of the cutter Deveron. A sum of £80, sufficient to cover the wages, has been deposited by Captain Anderson in court, pending legal adjustment.

Proposed Ball to Commodore Erskine. At a meeting of citizens this afternoon, it was decided to give a ball to Commodore Erskine and officers of the Nelson on arrival.

The Measles Epidemic. Though the scarlet fever epidemic seems to have become a thing of the past, measles still rage virulently since the beginning of the current mouth, 97 cases have been reported to the city sanitary inspector.

New Season Teas. The Bowen left Foo Chow, on June 10th for Wellington. The Manimuir one day earlier, for Sydney, the latter has 220 tons of new season's teas for Auckland.

The Defaulter Harjes. Fischer, of Auckland, agent for the firm of Havges and Co., has received a cablegram from Adelaide, announcing that the defaulting debtor Harjes, has been remanded to Auckland.

Petition to the Governor. The residents of Karaughape, Eden, Graf ton and Parnell, are preparing petitions to the Governor praying that these districts may be joined to the city.

Te Aroha GoldfieldIt is estimated that there are, at the present, works in progress on the Te Aroha Golclfield, which will cost £33,000.

Purchase of a Barque. The English barque Haira, now in port, has been purchased by Stone Bros.
