Consols unchanged, 101^. New Zealand securities at following quotations :—5: — 5 per cent. 10-40 loan, 106 i 5 5 P er cent - 1889 loan, 106 ; 4^ per cent. 1879-1904 loan, 103 A. The total reserve in the Bank of England to-day is £12,875,000, being £375,000 above tLe reserve last Thursday. The Bank rate of discount lemains at 3 per cent, ami the market rate at 2&. The market for colonial breadstufl's and tallow is unchanged. A firm and active demand was again experienced at to-day's wool auction ; 9,200 bales have been offeied since the opening of the sales, and 60,500 have been withdrawn. For hides the demand is limited, and prices are l-7th lower. Tenders for the New South Wales loan of £2,000,000 were opened to-day. The total subscription amounts to £4,000,000, and the tenders averaged 102 and 2-1 lths.
