Having had the honor of being Nominated for the Office of Commissioner for your District, I regret exceedingly that on account of pressure of business at my Branch Establishment, up country, (necessitating my absence for about 10 days) it will be impossible for me to make a personal canvass amongst you. I, however, beg to assure you that should I have the honor of being returned, I will in the future as in the past, do my utmost for the welfare of the district, and the electors generally.
