AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS. Mr Alfred Buckland's Weekly Report.— At the Haymarkct, od May 27, fodder was abundant, and oaten hay brought irom 4s Od to ss; meadow hay, 2s Od to 4s 3d; small loads, 20s to 89s ; and straw, 14s to 23s per load. There was a fair number of horses yarded, and all were disposed of. Heavy draughts sold from L3O to L 64: medium draughts, HO to L 25 ; light-harness horses and hae&.')Ls|tq!Ll4lOsr; light/unbroken stock. L 7 to Ll3 15s. At the Haymarkct, on Tuesday, hides were'in ' usual'number,' and brought-frora-8£ to-4*d; calfskins,-2Jd to B}d thr lb.; sheepskins, Is 7a to £s 2d each ; wool, in grease, o{d to 7£d ,the lb : tallow, 20s ito 235. the cwt. AtthesalQofflie latp Mr Allens, stock, at Buckland, on Tuesday last, there was a very numerous attendance, andiood prices ..ruled. througSoufffie salo.'both for tho implements and live stock, and great surprise! was expressed by occasional visitors at the improvements effected within the last few years in this district. At Papakura, on Wednesday, &. moderate supply of cattle met with a steady demand, "and dairy cows showed an upward tendency in price. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows were in usual number, and at late values. Young cattle in larger supply than for some weeks, and better inquiry. Good calves brought 30s each. Fat cattle in less number than of late, and better worth 5s to 10s per head. Good quality w.is <it 23s the lOOlbs., and fhe general range of prices from 20s to 235. A draft from the Matamata estate averaged LIQ ,7s. % Sheep, in lull numbcr.s. The ewes advertised brought 15s each, and wethers ranged from 15s Od to "20s each, or 3d the lb; lambs, from 9s to 13s (Id each. Pigs in moderate supply, and fair inquiry. Messrs Hun ri'.R. and $101/lx\ Wkeklv Riipori.—Horses : lherc has been a marked improvement in both quality and numbers during the past iwouk. At the Durham Yards, on l'Yiday,'th'erd was a muph better description than on the previous week, and in consequence, competition was keen and bidding spirited ; most m being disposed of at prices satisfactory to vendors. We qKOte-^HUcks, < from '£7< to £18 ; medium draught colts, ,£22 to £20". Cattle : There lias been no alteration in prices of stock. At the Newmarket Yards there was more than the usual nuratfer of fat beasts, but there were no stores, and but few dairy cows, and those in being of an inferior description, Were very difficult to dispose of. A draft of very fine oxen from Poverty Ji.i) elicited keen competition, and were sold at an advance on last week's prices. Sheep were in good numbers, both fat and stores. Store wethers, 9s 9d tp lls ; fat wethers, from 16s to 22s ; fat ewes, lls 9d to 15s. A few nice pigs met with read) sale at satisfactory prices. Good veal calves sold at from 25s to 47s each.
LONDON WOOL MARKET. [13 Y CABLK.] London, May 31.—At the wool sales to-d.ij, 11,100 bales were entered. There was a good competition, and tho lots catalogued sold at the full current rates.
