MR AUKBD HUCKLANU'S WeI'KLV Rl'l'Oßl'.— . ; At the Haymaiket on Fnd ly, May 19, there was an unusually large supply ot fodder, oaten luij bringing from 4s (id to ."is 3d ; and meadow h.iv, '•2s to 6s ; small loads, 22s to 36s ; and straw, 17s Od to 27s Od per load. Horses were yarded in large numbers, and a lair busiucss was done, 'lhe lots entered consisted principally of those of a light stamp, and were nearly all cleaned at satisfactory prices. A consignment of useful horses from Wanganui attiactcd attention, and were all disposed of at good values. Acti\c draughts brought from £17 is to £32 10s ; light harness horses, £11 10s to ; and light hacks, £5 to £13. At the Hay market, on 'iucsdaj, hides were in greater number than usual ; puces ior sound quality ranged between IHd and Jd the lb. Sheepskins from "is 3d to 4s 10d~each ; wool, in grease, 7jd and 7jd the lb. ; tallow, 20s to 23s 7dthecwt. At Remuera, on 'Ihursdaj, young dairy cows were m brisk inquiry at from £7 l()s to £8 10s each. Calves and store cattle in pool condition at low values, but fresh conditioned steers were in better inquiry . I'at cattle in full supply and dull of sale ; a few very choice steers reached "235, but the average ot a draft of cattle barely readied 20s the 1001 bs. htore sheep m moderate number. Young longwoolled ewes brought 15s each. Fat sheep m lull number and excellent quality; last week's values sc.uceh sustained. Best wethers bi ought 3d the lb. A full market of pigs met a much better sale than last week. Good porkers were in brisk demand, and a small number of good \eal cahes brought from 3.">s to 44s each. At the .Durham Yards, on Friday, scarcely .in average' number were submitted by auction, and most ot them were not strangers to the market, consemienth bidding lacked spirit. We quote hacks li om £4 10s to £13 ; spring-cart horses of a good stamp, Jrom £18 to £20. Wool, Hides, Skins, and fallow : Supply unequal to the demand. Hides ot but indifferent descriptions sold at 3|d pei lb ; tallow, 24s per lOOlbs ; skins, 2s Id to Is Id ; wool, in grease, 74d. Cattle An a\erage number of all descriptions h,i\e been brought forward for sale, lhe demand has been steady, but there was no upw.u d tendem y.
