Descbiptjon of Land. — The Maniatutu Village, situated on the future main road from Tauranga to Opotiki, is about the centre of the above lands, and is distant from Tauranga 23 miles, from Te Puke 11 miles, and from Maketu 9£ miles, by partly-formed roads, the road from Kaikokopu to the village and onwards through the block being now under construction by Government. The lands in the Maketu and Waihi Survey Districts are all open, and consist of undulating fern hills running out to swamps in the northern portions, whilst the southern blocks are more broken. The soil is light, the , vegetation consisting of fern, tutu, and flax.
