WEST PORT, Last Night.
When the last tiain was coining into the "Westport station last night the engine struck a cow, which was lying across the line. The locomotive was capsized, and two tracks (loaded with coal) followed, the lot going down an embankment. The fireman escaped comparatively unhurt, but the driver was pinned to the gioimd, liis arm being caught by the side of the engine. He was extricated after a quarter of an hour's woik, and was found to be but slightly hurt. The line is much torn up and the permanent way injured, while the escape of the men is miraculous.
