After Judge (Allies hud taken his scat in the iSuprcmc Court this moiuing, the Crown Prosecutor intimated that he intended to ask poi mission to enter a nolle proMqiii in the ca&c of Titokowaru and Kan»i, charged under the West Coast Settlement Act. His Honor &nid that he would look into the application, and state his opinion during the course of the day.

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The Arawa tribe, men, women and children, are preparing a monster petition to Parliament, praying that the Thermal Springs Act be not repealed, and that all their lands be dealt with in accordance with its provisions, namely, leasen by auction, in suitable blocks, for long terms of years.
* NEW PLYMOUTH. Last Night. At the (Supreme Court, Edward Spackman was found guilty of horse-stealing, and was sentenced to eighteen months imprisonment. Edwin Barry, , charged with attempting to steal money at the Hawera races, was sentenced to. tln - ee months imprisonment. His Honor then discharged llangi and Titokowaru, as ; the Crown Prosecuter had entered a nolle prowquc in those cases. ""*,
