LoKDpN, May 5. Serious disturbances oceured to-day at Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland, ' in consequence of the rejoicings which were taking place over the release of the Irish members. The police were called out to disperse the gathering, when the mob stoned the police, and the latter fired and wounded seven of the riotera. As the outcome of several Conservative meetings which have been held during the last few days to consider the political situation, Sir Michael HicksBeach will on Monday next, in accordance with resolutions come to at the meetings, in the House of Commons, demand from the Government a full statement as to then* Irish policy. Should the declaration be deemed inadequate, Sir Michael Hicks-Beach will, it is announced, move a vote of censure on the Government.

Cairo, May 5. A serious rising under the leadership of a false prophet, at the head »f a large bady of men, has again broken out in the Sounda. The Egyption troops have, so far, been powerless to quell the revolt, M'hich is daily extending. The. strength of the rebels is rapidly augmenting,- and it is feared they are prepaiing to attack Khartoum, a town of considerable size, in Nubia.
