The Waikato Times Office, Friday. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKKTS. Mr Alfred Buckland's Wkkkiy Rcpokt.— At the Haymart, on Friday, April 28th. fodder was in usual supply, and brought fi om Is Od to 3s 9d per cwt., small loads, 21s to 3Ss, and straw, 11s to 38s per load. Horses were yarded in fair numbers, and nearly all entered were disposed of. Several light, active draughts elicited Rood competition, and brought from £15 to £30 ss : light harness horses, £10 to £15, and a number of hack's", £=? to' £ls each. The rarchorscs Maori and Mj Dream were not sold. At the H.iymarkct, on Tuesday, hides were at Lite values from 2?d to 3jjd the lb. Sheepskins, from is lOd to 3s Cd each ; tallow, 2<K Gd to 2Hs the cwt. ; smalLparccls of wqol, 7|d to 7sd the lb. At Pukekohe, on Monday, a larger muster of cattle than usual met with a steady demand. Hackward spiingers brought from £4 10s to £0 ss ; three-year- old steers, £6 ; two-j-ear-old, £3 10s ; calves, 20s to 29s each. At Mr Bathgatc's sale, at Pokeno, on Wednesday, there was a large attendance ot the neighbouring settlers, and satisfactory prices obtained throughout. Cows ranged from £i to L 0125 6d ; heifers, £3 to L 4 10s ; calves 20s each. At Remuera, on Ihursday, dairy cows were numerous, and in better request. Good animais were in demand at L8 and upwards. Store cattle in usual number, and late values. Fat cattle in full number; last week's prices fully sustained, good cattle averaging 21s thelOOlbs. Sheep, both fat and store, were in larger numbers than usual. There was a brisk inquiry throughout the sale at an advance of Is per head over late markets. Pigs were in moderate supply, and of exceptionally good quality, but barely maintained last week's prices. Fat calves numerous, and in fair demand at late values, itIK&RS. HONTBR AM) Nol.An's WI.KKI.Y Rl'PORL.— Horses : A large number was brought forward, but the demand was slack, and but a limited number changed hands. At the Durham Yards, on Friday, entries were nearly as numerous as the previous week, but bidding was slow, and several remained undisposed of. Hacks sold at from £5 to £12 10s ; light harness., £11 to £17 5s ; medium draught, £17 to £26 i<;s ; heny draughts, £32 to £35 15. Cattle : The supply has been good and there has been a fair demand for dairy and store stock, but for fat beasts languid. The Newmarket Yards were well filled on Tuesday, and for dairy and store stock competition was good, but tor fat beasts spiritless. At Papakura, on Wednesday, there was, us usual, a largo muster, and late prices wcic fully sustained. We quote dairy cows, £0 to £9 13s ; dry cows, £3 to £4 5s ; calves, "20s to 33» ; yearlings, 38s to 42s ; two-year-old steers, £2 15s to L 3 5s ; three-year-old, L 4 17s to £5. Sheep : At Newmarket, on Tuesday, the yards were completely crammed with both store and fat sheep. The draft of stores from the North elicited keen competition, and sold at an ad\anrc on late values. Fat sheep were in demand, and sold welt. Lambs wore plentiful and slightly lower in price. Pigs ; A large number were yarded, with corresponding demand.
