This Association is promoted to supply a want iv Waikato — to .stimulate coopeiation and combination amongst the Waikato fanning community, upon the 1 piinciple that unity gives strength , and co-operation affords a guarantee ior mutual benefit, the best value for produce, and most economical method of working crops, or other farming operations. The experiments made during past seasons have proved sufficiently satisfactory to warrant the opinion that Waik.ilo lands will grow a superior quality of Wheat, Oats, Barley, or other Grain, and yield a very satisfactory average. The Waikato holdings being freehold, are owned ior the most part by settlers who, have not the requisite plant ior undertaking tlie gt owing of Grain crops, and by many who have not the necessaiy capital themselves, but who would be willing to put portions of their farms under grain crops if they had the cooperatiou of this Association. The Waikato at present does not grow nearly sufficient grain to supply its local requirements, and iiom the fact that its population is constantly increasing and with the rich pro&pects and magnitude of the Te Aroha Goldfield in view, a large demand for tlie products of amillmay be confidently expected, the purchase or election of a flour mill or mills and granaries will theiefoie be one of the main objects of the Association. The benefits to small settlers taking shares will be very great, as they will secuie a certain market for their fa.rm products, participating in the profits Qf the Association, besides being able to work their farms at the lowest possible outlay and lisk to themselves. Another object of the Association will be the erection 'of a suitable slaughteryard in the Waikato district for the purpose of supplying the Auckland market with meat, or otherwise disposing of same. Tlie Association also propose the establishment of cheese, butter and bacon factoiies in central positions. Nevertheless, the Directors of the Association will exercise their discretion in ■selecting one or other of the various objects set forward in the Prospectus, to start operations upon iv case they deem it imprudent to commence all at the same time, and the works undertaken will, be progressive, and not of an unwarrantable magnitude at the onset. Applications for shares to be made to the Secretary, W. A., Graham, Tamahere Estate, Hamilton, and to Frater, Bros., Auckland, or T. Y. Fitzpatrick, Ngaruawahia. Share List will close on Thursday, May 4th.
